Kwanzaa is Coming!

Tis the season!

It's my favorite time of year.  I love setting up my Kwanzaa display in early December.  Visitors to my home who are unfamiliar the holiday get to see it in practice.  I'm happy to answer questions and invite folks to the large community gatherings and ceremonies that take place during Kwanzaa.  I also invite people to my family's personal celebration.

It's important to me to be an ambassador for Kwanzaa.  Even after all these decades since the holiday's inception, there is a great deal of confusion about what Kwanzaa is and isn't.  It's not Black Christmas.  It's not tied to any religion.  For this reason, Black people from all walks of faith are welcome to partake.  Kwanzaa is intended to unite.

In the led up to December,  I will post more blogs about Kwanzaa.  Feel free to ask any questions.  Habari gain!
